Pirates cannot afford to drop any points to win the championship

In persuit of reclaiming the top spot in the betway premiership, Orlando Pirates FC will be hosted by Amazulu FC at Moses Mabhida in Durban on Tuesday evening and they know that to keep their title ambitious more realistic, can’t afford any slip ups especially when competing with point-machine like Monnapule Saleng’s Mamelodi Sundowns FC.

Having given their supporters the first sip of armstel at the Arena on over the weekend, Abdeslam Ouaddou’s men are expected to continue where they left off against Magesi FC to ensure that they grind maximum points since it’s going to be a tough encounter that will be decided by margin of errors or moments of individual brilliance. Usuthu under the tutelage of former Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs flying winger Arthur Zwane, will be looking to keep up the momentum gained recently by ensuring that the worst results they get at home becomes a draw and that requires Orlando Pirates players to know that they won’t find points placed on a silver platter for them but must work hard to get them.

From the tactical aspect, it’s going to be key for the coach to retain almost if not the same starting lineup that started against Magesi FC because too many changes can affect the rhythm and telepathy in the team. Putting together players who know each other makes things a lot easier for the team especially in the attack because they will bend their runs in relation to the anticipated movements of their teammates of which allows the team to catch opponents by surprise and get goals before recovering defensively. I hope the coach won’t try to be too clever by making too many changes that may become tactical blunders at the end of the game.
