Orlando Pirates set to part ways with Mofokeng as top European and Asian teams queue for his services

The sensational Orlando Pirates attacker is well known for his trickery, dynamism, creativity and an eye for special goals but most if not all of this, has been taking place from the left hand side as he ghosts through the left half space spanking the ball with malevolent precision to the far corner into the back of the net.
After the arrival of Bafana Bafana star Oswin Appolis, Buccaneers couldn’t wait to watch Mofokeng and former Supersport United diminutive winger in action together and that came during the preseason against Pafos where Appolis assisted Mofokeng to level matters with grass cutting pass that sliced through the defence of Cyprus side like a hot knife through the butter for Mofokeng to demonstrate his composure and finish well expertly as one would have anticipated.
Of most importance, Mofokeng’s two goals in Spain against Pafos and Granada respectively, came through his weaker foot of which it’s his left and I have noticed that it’s something that few have missed just how important it was. That meant was big because the availability of Oswin on the left, could still see Rele excelling on the right and the fear that he may not be as deadly as he is on the left, doesn’t hold any water because his football intelligence makes him to always have five seconds ahead of the opponents in any area of the pitch he finds himself and that leaves him with more time and space to still be effective as he is on the other side.
Allowing Appollis to play on the left and moving Rele to the left to allow Oswin to play on the left would be perfect for Bucs especially when the coach decides to start them together because that will allow the former Polokwane City winger to retain his cutting edge at the new club with lot of pressure and expectations because he’s one player who is not expected to produce below part performance and moving him to the right could slower him down a while for Mofokeng could just be another platform to demonstrate his technical skills and continue to mesmerize fullbacks and those covering them.
Moving Rele to the right for Appollis to thrive down the left would be a win win situation for both players and the team. It’s not about sacrificing Mofokeng but extracting even more from him because he has unbelievable capacity to thrive anywhere in the front four positions. Ideally, would prefer Rele and Oswin to compete for the same position but because their outstanding qualities means they are starters especially with Mohau Nkota having left and Saleng going to spend the next season in Rustenburg with Orbit College.
Tshepang Moremi remains a work in progress with lot of potential and Sebelebele provides good depth but everything will be decided by the coach when the season officially kicks off in two weeks time.
