Pirates coach unhappy with team’s striking rate

The Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou can no longer hide his frustration due to his team’s lack of ruthlessness in front of goal despite consistency at winning games because he knows that goal difference could be a decisive factor at the end of the season especially if they continue grinding results as they have been doing. The coach’s biggest frustration comes from the fact that his team just can’t see sense pivotal momentum shifting periods to killed off their opponent when they have an opportunity to do so and part of the bigger problem is that none of his players are clinical in front of goal compared to Tshegofatso Mabasa who has been sent out on loan in the January transfer window.

In a game like the one against Gallants where goalscoring chances were plenty, the former Bloemfontein Celtic centre forward would easily helped himself with a hattrick or haul because despite his lack of intense pressing, he’s a fox in the box and it’s those goals that would have helped the team to have a better goal difference so that even if Sundowns catches up on points with Bucs, they remain top due to the goal difference and remaining at the top carries some psychological effects on the team. Mbuthuma will miss four chances to convert 1 and Makgopa will miss three to convert one while Mabasa will miss two and score or three. So while it’s frustrating for everyone to see the team not taking full advantage of the opportunities they have in front of goal, Abdeslam Ouaddou and Bucs management know that this kind of frustration is self-inflicted.

Mabasa doesn’t mess up in and around the box when service is right and chances are plenty and Will easily get a hatrick because he’s mentally strong as he doesn’t get too excited even after scoring a brace and wants more but the current attackers at Bucs especially when playing at Orlando, they get too excited after Scoring a goal or two and ended up missing a big opportunity of taking full advantage and score more and that shows weak mentality in relation to a team that’s aiming to win the league.
