First of all Thabang Monare is a top talented and experienced midfielder any team can dream to have in the Betway Premiership. He has played football at the highest level in South Africa, both club and international football for South Africa national team Bafana Bafana. He also played in AFCON, CAF Confederations Cup and CAF Champions League for Pirates and Bafana Bafana.

Thabang nicknamed Dash, can play as a defensive midfielder, building from the back making sure that the team has defensive capabilities and also connecting play from back to midfield. He has previously played from position 4 to midfield when he turned out for his professional introductory team Jomo Cosmos football club more than 10 years ago coached by Jomo Sono.

At Orlando Pirates, Thabang operated mainly as an attacking midfielder where he was linking midfielders and wingers as he also scored a number of goals playing in that role. It was at Orlando Pirates where Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos selected Thabang to represent Bafana Bafana in the previous AFCON where South Africa finished the tournament as the third best team in the African continent represented by mostly local players who were playing in the South African Premier League.

With departure of Eric Tinkler as a coach of Sekhukhune United football club, lets hope caretaker coach Paulus Masehe can be able to use Thabang in his natural position. In order for coach Paulus to use Thabang Monare in his connector position, he must deploy Rivaldo Cotzee to main position six and let Thabang do what he is known for in midfield for the team.
